Kindergarten- We are working on the Long I sound this week with words such as I, cry, my, like, bike, try, pie, dice, mice. Students are reading through the EL curriculum in their mainstream classrooms while we work on vocabulary, comprehension, stations, etc.
1st grade- We are working on Long O and U sounds this week. Students are reading and writing the words with these sounds. Students are reading through the EL curriculum in their mainstream classrooms while we work on vocabulary, comprehension, stations, etc.
2nd Grade- We are working on foundational skills with newcomers: phonemes, alphabet, color words, food, etc. Students are reading through the EL curriculum in their mainstream classrooms while we work on vocabulary, comprehension, stations, etc. We are looking at endings for verbs: -IES, -ES, -S.
3rd grade- We are continuing working through the EL curriculum. We are reviewing helping verbs, abstract nouns, creating longer, smoother sentences, and the verb to be.

Explain how at least two different animals created homes for this purpose. Tell what material the animal used and draw an illustration to support your writing. We will also be mapping out our goals for the year.
